New York Times CALLS OUT RUBIO for 17 tickets in 18 years, What about OBAMA’s 17 tickets in 2 YEARS?

Rubios on the Road Have Drawn Unwanted Attention
by Alan Rappeport and Steve Eder | NEW YORK TIMES

Senator Marco Rubio has been in a hurry to get to the top, rising from state legislator to United States senator in the span of a decade and now running for president at age 44. But politics is not the only area where Mr. Rubio, a Republican from Florida, has an affinity for the fast track. He and his wife, Jeanette, have also shown a tendency to be in a rush on the road.

According to a search of the Miami-Dade and Duval County court dockets, the Rubios have been cited for numerous infractions over the years for incidents that included speeding, driving through red lights and careless driving. A review of records dating back to 1997 shows that the couple had a combined 17 citations: Mr. Rubio with four and his wife with 13. On four separate occasions they agreed to attend remedial driving school after a violation. Mr. Rubio’s troubles behind the wheel predate his days in politics. In 1997, when he was cited for careless driving by a Florida Highway Patrol officer, he was fined and took voluntary driving classes. A dozen years later, in 2009, he was ticketed for speeding on a highway in Duval County and found himself back in driver improvement school.

In researching such a petty political character attack, did the New York Times ever stop to question the ethics behind their journalism? Did they ever ask themselves, if this was a liberal running for President, would we research such a petty personal statistic and plaster it all over the headlines to make it appear that a couple that gets 17 tickets in 18 years isn’t fit to sit in the White House? Well it took me only a few minutes to discover an article from long ago, surely the New York Times has the resources to do the same, and if they don’t, well I did the work for them, so please, make headlines with this Obama story, 17 TICKETS OVER TWO YEARS ALL BY HIMSELF.

Obama Finally Pays Local Parking TIckets
By George P. Hassett, Senior Editor | The Somerville News

Before Barack Obama was a United States senator and a presidential hopeful, he was a Harvard University law student living in Somerville who parked in bus stops and accumulated hundreds of dollars in parking tickets. And for nearly two decades those parking tickets went unpaid, until a representative of Obama’s settled all his outstanding debts with Cambridge’s Traffic, Parking and Transportation Department Jan. 26.

Obama attended Harvard Law School from 1988 to 1991. During his time at Harvard, Obama lived at 365 Broadway in Somerville, according to his parking tickets. Records from the Cambridge Traffic, Parking and Transportation office show that between Oct. 5, 1988 and Jan. 12, 1990 Obama was cited for 17 traffic violations, sometimes committing two in the same day. The abuses included parking in a resident permit area, parking in a bus stop and failing to pay the meter. Twelve of Obama’s 17 tickets were given to him on Massachusetts Avenue.
