With the White House poised to grant executive amnesty any day now despite the American people’s staunch opposition, on Sunday President Obama was asked about the many, many statements he made in the past about his inability to unilaterally change or ignore immigration law. His response was astonishingly brazen: “Actually, my position hasn’t changed. When I was talking to the advocates, their interest was in me, through executive action, duplicating the legislation that was stalled in Congress.”
This is a flagrant untruth: “In fact, most of the questions that were posed to the president over the past several years were about the very thing that he is expected to announce within a matter of days,” reported The New York Times. “[T]he questions actually specifically addressed the sorts of actions that he is contemplating now,” The Washington Post’s Fact Checker agreed, awarding President Obama the rare “Upside-Down Pinocchio,” which signifies “a major-league flip-flop.” Even FactCheck.org piled on.
President Obama is once again trying to mislead Americans, but he can’t run from what he’s said over and over (and over) again. Not only are Americans not stupid – they can read:
- “I take the Constitution very seriously. The biggest problems that we’re facing right now have to do with [the president] trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all. And that’s what I intend to reverse when I’m President of the United States of America.” (3/31/08)
- “We’ve got a government designed by the Founders so that there’d be checks and balances. You don’t want a president who’s too powerful or a Congress that’s too powerful or a court that’s too powerful. Everybody’s got their own role. Congress’s job is to pass legislation. The president can veto it or he can sign it. … I believe in the Constitution and I will obey the Constitution of the United States. We’re not going to use signing statements as a way of doing an end-run around Congress.” (5/19/08)
- “Comprehensive reform, that’s how we’re going to solve this problem. … Anybody who tells you it’s going to be easy or that I can wave a magic wand and make it happen hasn’t been paying attention to how this town works.” (5/5/10)
- “[T]here are those in the immigrants’ rights community who have argued passionately that we should simply provide those who are [here] illegally with legal status, or at least ignore the laws on the books and put an end to deportation until we have better laws. … I believe such an indiscriminate approach would be both unwise and unfair. It would suggest to those thinking about coming here illegally that there will be no repercussions for such a decision. And this could lead to a surge in more illegal immigration. And it would also ignore the millions of people around the world who are waiting in line to come here legally. Ultimately, our nation, like all nations, has the right and obligation to control its borders and set laws for residency and citizenship. And no matter how decent they are, no matter their reasons, the 11 million who broke these laws should be held accountable.” (7/1/10)

In 1807 Britain outlawed slavery. In 1820 the king of the African kingdom of Ashanti inquired why the Christians did not want to trade slaves with him anymore, since they worshipped the same god as the Muslims and the Muslims were continuing the trade like before.
The civil rights movement of the 1960’s have left many people with the belief that the slave trade was exclusively a European/USA phenomenon and only evil white people were to blame for it. This is a simplistic scenario that hardly reflects the facts. Thousands of records of transactions are available on a CDROM prepared by Harvard University and several comprehensive books have been published recently on the origins of modern slavery (namely, Hugh Thomas’ The Slave Trade and Robin Blackburn’s The Making Of New World Slavery) that shed new light on centuries of slave trading.
What these records show is that the modern slave trade flourished in the early middle ages, as early as 869, especially between Muslim traders and western African kingdoms. For moralists, the most important aspect of that trade should be that Muslims were selling goods to the African kingdoms and the African kingdoms were paying with their own people. In most instances, no violence was necessary to obtain those slaves.

ABC News has obtained leaked emails and a secret email list containing the names of Hillary Clinton operatives, known as the “Mook Mafia.” The list is named for Robby Mook, who has worked on various Democratic campaigns and has been mentioned as a possible campaign manager for Clinton in 2016. The email list was also maintained with Marlon Marshal, now an Obama White House aide. It went out to about 150 campaign and political operatives, according to ABC. Contents of the eye-opening emails were published yesterday by ABC, and may give voters an insight into the dirty 2016 presidential campaign Clinton intends to run.
Many of the emails contain explicit language, and are packed with mafia references. In one of the emails announcing that Marshall was taking a new job, Mook wrote: “I know this prodical [sic] son will return to the mafia manger soon enough to smite Republicans mafia-style.”
Mook worked on Howard Dean’s 2004 presidential campaign, Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, and was the campaign manager for Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s during his successful 2013 campaign.
Marshall also wrote in the email that he would not be departing permanently: “First, the mafia never separates, it just continues to grow and expand and move into other states in order to destroy Republicans.”
In another email, sent during the 2010 special election to fill the Massachusetts Senate seat vacated after the death of Ted Kennedy, Marshall told members to Marshall wrote, “F U Republicans. Mafia till I die. If you have just a few minutes, hop on that activate and punish those voters!”

This comes from the very liberal former Labor Secretary Robert Reich who is now an economics adviser for Barack Obama… And thank you, Robert Reich, for revealing the brutal truth about what liberals ultimately have in store for the public with their health care plan. Remember, this is Reich presenting what an honest liberal presidential candidate would say aloud if he weren’t worried about being elected.

Gruber isn’t the only Obamacare architect to tell the truth about Obamacare’s view of redistribution. Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, who has said that he wishes to die at age 75, wrote in February 2008 in the Journal of the American Medical Association:
Vague promises of savings from cutting waste, enhancing prevention and wellness, installing electronic medical records and improving quality of care are merely ‘lipstick’ cost control, more for show and public relations than for true change.

Supreme Court upholds Obamacare individual mandate as a tax
By Liz Goodwin
In a victory for President Obama, the Supreme Court decided to uphold his signature health care law’s individual mandate in a split decision, upending speculation after hostile-seeming oral arguments in March that the justices would overturn the law. The mandate has been upheld as a tax, according to SCOTUSblog, with Chief Justice John Roberts joining the liberal wing of the court.
BEFORE oral arguments in March, polls of Supreme Court experts and scholars showed that most believed the mandate would be upheld as an exercise of Congress’ power to regulate interstate commerce.
But AFTER justices seemed deeply skeptical of the mandate in oral arguments in March, the consensus flipped, with most experts guessing the court would strike down the law.

(VIDEO) Gruber Admits Government’s Increased Taxes Are Passed on to Consumers ‘Exploit the Lack of American Voters’ Economic Understanding’
Another: Third (3rd) video emerges of Obamacare architect insulting voters over Obamacare. Obamacare architect calls average voter ‘stupid’
Washington (CNN) — A third video emerged Wednesday of MIT economist Jonathan Gruber, one of the architects of the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, insulting voters and suggesting their ignorance was exploited by those pushing passage of the health care law. Neither the White House nor Gruber would comment.
In this one, Gruber was discussing how then-Sen. John Kerry, D-Massachusetts, pushed forward a way to add a tax on expensive health insurance plans, or “Cadillac Plans,” that would purportedly tax the insurance companies though Gruber suggests everyone knew the companies would just pass on the additional cost to customers.
“It’s a very clever, you know, basic exploitation of the lack of economic understanding of the American voter,” Gruber said at the Honors Colloquium 2012 at the University of Rhode Island. The moment is at about 29:25 in this video. The video was first reported by The Daily Caller.

Shortly after Obamacare architect and MIT Professor Jonathan Gruber was severely criticized by South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy, a new video has surfaced that shows Gruber admitting that Obama knew it was going to be a problem, and they all agreed to lie about it, the Gateway Pundit reported on Thursday. Gruber was interviewed by Frontline on June 13, 2012, in which he admitted that Obama was present in a meeting in the Oval Office along with several experts. They, along with Gruber worked to figure out a way to get credible savings on cost control that the Congressional Budget Office would recognize and score as savings in this law, in order to get it passed based on lies.
(VIDEO) Liberal Mainstream Media Media shields ObamaCare architect Gruber who bet on public stupidity
By Howard Kurtz
I’ve been trying to figure out why the mainstream media has all but decided to ignore one of ObamaCare’s chief architects saying the administration played on the public’s stupidity in passing the law. After all, the press usually loves when hidden video surfaces, as it did this week with MIT professor Jonathan Gruber, and we get unvarnished comments showing what someone really and truly believes.
Gruber’s original comments:
This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO did not score the mandate as taxes. If [Congressional Budget Office] scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies. Okay, so it’s written to do that. In terms of risk-rated subsidies, if you had a law which said that healthy people are going to pay in -– you made explicit that healthy people pay in and sick people get money — it would not have passed… LACK OF TRANSPARENCY is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter, or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass. And it’s the second-best argument. Look, I wish Mark was right that we could make it all transparent, but I’d rather have this law than not.
MSNBC’s Ronan Farrow:
Is there a there to the controversy?… You were saying essentially that due to political pressures the language of Obamacare had to be somewhat opaque… somewhat lacking in transparency.
(VIDEO) Obamacare Architect Caught on Camera: Stupidity of the American Voter was Critical to getting Obamacare passed
by Avik Roy | Forbes
You’ve got to hand it to MIT economist Jonathan Gruber. The guy dubbed the “Obamacare architect” is a viral YouTube sensation. A few months back, he was caught on tape admitting that Obamacare doesn’t provide subsidies for federally-run insurance exchanges; it’s now the topic of a new case before the Supreme Court.
Today, new video surfaced in which Gruber said that “the stupidity of the American voter” made it important for him and Democrats to hide Obamacare’s true costs from the public. “That was really, really critical for the thing to pass,” said Gruber. “But I’d rather have this law than not.” In other words, the ends—imposing Obamacare upon the public—justified the means.
… Gruber made an argument that many of Obamacare’s critics have long made, including me. It’s that the law’s complex system of insurance regulation is a way of concealing from voters what Obamacare really is: a huge redistribution of wealth from the young and healthy to the old and unhealthy. In the video, Gruber points out that if Democrats had been honest about these facts, and that the law’s individual mandate is in effect a major tax hike, Obamacare would never have passed Congress.
