BREAKING: New Allegations Point to Cochran Campaign in Mississippi Senate Vote Buying Scandal | RedState

Establishment GOP corruption against constitutional challengers in their own party…

Article below by Aaron Gardner

An audio interview has surfaced in which the interviewee claims that he was to be paid by the Cochran camp to grease voters in the Mississippi GOP Senate runoff election. The audio interview, which coincides with a separate audio recording and batch of evidence produced by the newly launched, a project by Charles C. Johnson, alleges that the Cochran campaign conspired with a Mississippi Reverend to buy the votes of African American voters, who happen to be democrats.

Before I get into the weeds of what is in the audio interview and transcript, which are both below, let me set up the stage a bit. What is alleged to have occurred is illegal and very serious business. Under Mississippi law the alleged crimes could lead to Thad Cochran being removed from the Senate. Everything that follows comes from sources either on the ground in Mississippi, or those working closely with them.

… As implied in the interview, and confirmed by the text messages, Baird now works for the Cochran campaign and allegedly participated in a vote buying scheme to secure victory in the Mississippi.

As I said at the beginning, these allegations are no joke. Under MS Code § 23-15-561 (2013) which is a subsection of the Article on the Conduct of Elections, it is unlawful for both the Cochran campaign or outside supporters to “publicly or privately put up or in any way offer any prize, cash award or other item of value to be raffled, drawn for, played for or contested for in order to encourage persons to vote or to refrain from voting in any election.”

Is doesn’t take a genius to figure out that $15 in an envelope with a flier telling you who to vote for might fit into the definitions laid out in MS Code § 23-15-561 (2013).

Nancy Pelosi Addresses Crisis At The Mexican Border – Business Insider

By Colin Campbell

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi D-California traveled down to Texas on Saturday, where she addressed the ongoing humanitarian crisis of thousands of unaccompanied children who have attempted to cross the border. Pelosi, using cautious language around the word “crisis,” labeled the problem an “opportunity” for America to demonstrate its values. Many of the children have been kept in shocking conditions as federal officials scrambled to provide them basic necessities.” This is a community with a border going through it. And this crisis — that some call a ‘crisis’ — we have to view as an opportunity,” Pelosi told reporters at a press conference.

Millions Registered to Vote in More Than One State – The Daily Signal

Story below by Kenric Ward

Some 6.9 million Americans are registered to vote in two or more states, according to a report from an election-watch group. “Our nation’s voter rolls are a mess,” says Catherine Engelbrecht, True The Vote president. “Sensible approaches to roll maintenance are fought tooth and nail by radical special interests who can use the duplicity in the system to their advantage.”

The latest interstate voter cross check tallied 6,951,484 overlapping voter registrations, and they’re just the tip of the iceberg. The cross-check program involves only 28 states and does not include the three largest: California, Texas and Florida.

“Duplicate registration is an open invitation to voting fraud,” said Clara Belle Wheeler, a member of the Election Board in Albemarle County, Va. “This ability to vote more than once dilutes the legal votes and changes the results of elections.”

Here’s Why Migrant Women And Children Are Flooding To The Mexico-US Border – Business Insider

Article below by Alberto Arce, AP

The number of unaccompanied minors detained on the U.S. border has more than tripled since 2011. Children are also widely believed to be crossing with their parents in rising numbers, although the Obama administration has not released year-by-year figures. The crisis has sparked weeks of bitter political debate inside the U.S., with the administration saying crime is driving migrants north from Central America and congressional Republicans saying Obama’s policies is leading migrants to believe children and their mothers will be allowed to stay.

A vast majority said they were fleeing gang violence that has reached epidemic levels in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador in recent years. The migrants also uniformly said they decided to head north because they had heard that a change in U.S. law requires the Border Patrol to swiftly release children and their mothers and let them stay in the United States.

The belief that women and children can safely surrender to authorities the moment they set foot in the U.S. has changed the calculus of tens of thousands of parents who no longer worry about their children finishing the dangerous trip north through Mexico with a potentially deadly multiday hike through the desert Southwest.

“The United States is giving us a great opportunity because now, with this new law, we don’t have to try to cross the desert where so many people die. We can hand ourselves over directly to the authorities,” Gladys said, adding that she hopes to become a doctor.

The smiling teenager with long black hair said she was more excited about seeing her mother again than she was scared about the trip. Her mother said she was aware of the dangers but finally decided the risk was worth it after five years apart.

Reached by phone at home, the mother said she decided to send for her daughter because “if she gets across she can stay here, that’s what you hear.”

“Now they say that all children need to do is hand themselves over to the Border Patrol,” said the mother, who declined to provide her name because she is in the U.S. illegally.

Charlie Rangel Suggests Republican Opposition To Obama Is Rooted In Racism

Leading Democrats Keep Playing the Race Card… – Mr. B

Article below by Ashley Aiman

Rep. Charlie Rangel D-N.Y. on Monday spoke out against Republicans, who he said discriminate against President Barack Obama because he’s African-American. MSNBC’s Kasie Hunt asked Rangel, also African-American, whether he believed the president faces Republican opposition because of his race.

“You know, that’s a subjective question,” responded Rangel, who faces a tough reelection in Tuesday’s primary. “But, let me say this: Are most of the states that they represent, are they in the Confederate states that fought the Union? Were they slaveholder states? And when they come to Washington, do you see more Confederate flags than American flags?”

Rangel suggested the far right opposes Obama’s domestic policy just to embarrass the president — a goal he said is rooted in their prejudice.“

Who would hurt their own people — in terms of cutting off health, job opportunity, food stamps — to get after this president? It takes a lot of hatred to hurt yourself just to embarrass the president,” Rangel said. “So, I’m trying to think with the tea party — and basically what they have said and what their spokespeople have said — this would not be the same if the president was not of color.”

TED CRUZ TO OBAMA: You Must Help Texas Solve The Border Crisis Now

article by Brett Logiurato

Sen. Ted Cruz R-Texas sent a letter to the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Thursday, urging him to consider a proposal from Texas’ attorney general to aid the staggering humanitarian crisis on the U.S.-Mexico border.

In the letter, Cruz said Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson should examine the proposal from Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott. Cruz argued the proposal would allow Texas to take “decisive action” to help prevent thousands of unaccompanied minors from flowing over the border.

Abbott, a Republican who is currently running for governor, asked Johnson for $30 million in border-security resources last week. Border Patrol in Texas has recently reported a 92% increase in minors being apprehended at the border.

“Preventing people from illegally immigrating to the United States should be the primary purpose of Customs and Border Protection,” Cruz wrote in his letter. “And, although this critical task is primarily a federal responsibility, Texas is prepared to take action to gain control of our borders.”

Every day, hundreds of children are crossing the border, mostly making their way from violence-stricken areas in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador. The causes for this influx are many, but a large portion are children fleeing increased drug and gang violence.

In his letter, Cruz attributed the flood of people illegally crossing the border to the Obama administration’s immigration policies, which he characterized as an “outright refusal to enforce the law.”

“The Obama Administration’s outright refusal to enforce the law is causing chaos for those of us who live and work in border states that must deal with the surge of immigrants who are illegally arriving each day,” Cruz wrote.

The influx of immigrants have overwhelmed Border Patrol resources in the Rio Grande area, causing many migrants to be sent to processing facilities in Texas and Arizona. However, most of the detention facilities are not designed for long-term residency, creating a nightmare situation for officials trying to relieve the backlog — and for the immigrants who find themselves living in overcrowded, run-down conditions

IRS “PHONY” SCANDAL KEEPS GROWING: IRS lost more emails in tea party probe

article by Stephen Ohlemacher

WASHINGTON AP — The Internal Revenue Service has lost more emails connected to the tea party investigation, congressional investigators said Tuesday.

The IRS said last Friday it had lost an untold number of emails when Lois Lerner’s computer crashed in 2011. Lerner used to head the division that handles applications for tax-exempt status.

On Tuesday, two key lawmakers said the IRS has also lost emails from six additional IRS workers whose computers crashed. Among them was Nikole Flax, who was chief of staff to Lerner’s boss, then-deputy commissioner Steven Miller.

Miller later became acting IRS commissioner, but was forced to resign last year after the agency acknowledged that agents had improperly scrutinized tea party and other conservative groups when they applied for tax-exempt status. Documents have shown some liberal groups were also flagged.

Clintons use loophole to avoid estate tax they helped create | New York Post

Article by Leonard Greene

Not bad for a couple of “dead broke” people. Penny-pinching probable presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her former leader-of-the-free-world husband, Bill Clinton, have apparently grown quite attached to their money.

Despite being self-described paupers on their way out of the White House, the Clintons managed to sock away so much that they now want to shield their wealth from the dreaded estate tax they enthusiastically supported before striking it rich.

“The estate tax has been historically part of our very fundamental belief that we should have a meritocracy,” Hillary Clinton said at a December 2007 appearance with billionaire investor Warren Buffett.

But according to Bloomberg News, the Clintons have employed a variety of financial strategies designed to help shield multimillionaires from the estate tax, a levy paid by a person who inherits money or property. The tax can top out at 40 percent of assets.

Bill and Hillary Clinton have long supported an estate tax to prevent the US from being dominated by inherited wealth. As long as the tax is for other people, it appears.

Issa Subpoenas IRS Commissioner On Lost Lerner Emails

Article by Patrick Howley for The Daily Caller

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman Rep. Darrell Issa subpoenaed Internal Revenue Service IRS commissioner John Koskinen to testify about Lois Lerner’s “lost” emails and claimed that federal law mandates that Lerner’s emails should have been preserved.

Issa subpoenaed Koskinen to testify at a 7 p.m. hearing next Monday, June 23. The IRS claimed late last week that 2011 emails exchanged between Lerner and other Obama administration departments including the White House were lost in a computer crash and could not be provided to House Ways and Means Committee investigators probing the IRS targeting scandal, as previously agreed. Koskinen also agreed to testify before the Ways and Means Committee next Tuesday, June 24.

“Congress passed the Federal Records Act FRA to preserve key documents—such as those that were stored on Lerner’s hard drive—for production to congressional investigators and other stakeholders, including historians and FOIA requesters,” Issa wrote in a letter accompanying his subpoena. ”The FRA requires agencies to make and preserve records of agency decisions, policies, and essential transactions, and to take steps to safeguard against the loss of agency records.” “I will not tolerate your continued obstruction and game-playing in response to the Committee’s investigation of the IRS targeting,” Issa wrote.

IRS Says Official’s Emails Were Lost in Computer Crash – WSJ

Article By John D Mickinnon

WASHINGTON—The Internal Revenue Service said a former official’s 2011 computer crash significantly hampered its efforts to dig up correspondence requested as part of a congressional review of the agency’s treatment of conservative groups. The IRS said it is providing more emails to lawmakers and is doing its best to reconstruct correspondence from the former executive, Lois Lerner, who retired as the controversy unfolded last year. Its effort, which has included searching email of other senders and recipients, resulted in an additional 24,000 emails that are being provided to lawmakers, the agency said in a summary of its actions.House Republicans investigating the IRS controversy reacted unhappily to the news of Ms. Lerner’s computer crash.

… In a statement, the IRS said that it has made “unprecedented efforts” to comply with congressional demands for documents and information concerning the targeting. The effort has involved more than 250 IRS employees working more than 120,000 hours at a cost of almost $10 million.

This administration must think the American people are fools, as if emails don’t have backups stored on servers, or in other people’s inboxes, or the NSA. I am pretty sure backups of federal data is most likely a regulated requirement. And, only the government could spend $10 MILLION dollars looking through someone’s sent email history…..  – Mr. B

NBC’s Richard Engel “Hard Pressed” to Name Country Where Relations Have Improved with U.S. Since 2009

By Connor Williams

On the May 29 edition of CNBC’s Squawk Box, Richard Engel, NBC’s chief foreign correspondent, conceded that he could not name a single nation where relations have improved with the United States since President Obama took office six years ago. Engel generally stays above the political fray, so this admission about the president’s  foreign policy is revealing…
