FatBurger CEO: Small Businesses Feeling ‘Whiplash’ of Obamacare

FatBurger CEO Andy Wiederhorn and IHOP franchisee George Ebinger both agree: the Affordable Care Act is disastrous for small business, CNN Money reports. Weiderhorn says he has already seen franchise owners prepare to institute job sharing as a result of the employer mandate which requires small businesses to provide healthcare for any employee working over 30 hours per week.

Ebinger said “there is nothing affordable” about the Affordable Care Act, which he claims will force him to increase prices, put expansion plans on hold, and potentially lay off current employees. Both men join a chorus of small business leaders who are warning the administration that without changes Obamacare will have dire consequences for businesses, employees, and consumers
