Florida woman gets 20 years for firing gun

Opinion: I am getting so sick of the misrepresentation of the following news story. Yes 20 years is excessive but why not report the FULL STORY and let Americans make up their OWN MINDS. Physical evidence shows she shot towards her husband while their two sons were by his side, contradicting her own testimony. If a husband had shot towards his wife and kids would you see it any differently? She also disobeyed a judge’s direct order by going over to the husband’s house and attacking him. There was even a 3 year plea bargain with time served on the table and even more details the news media is failing to report but I guess its now our job to do our own research in order to get the full story! Check this link out, which tells the full story, after reading the mainstream news story below, then you’ll be better able to make up your own mind about the story and the agenda our news media is trying to shove down our throats. Angela Corey lashes out at critics of Marissa Alexander prosecution

By Susan Cooper Eastman

JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Reuters) – Three days after a Florida jury found George Zimmerman not guilty for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, the Rev. Jesse Jackson visited Jacksonville to call attention to another self-defense case that he called a “travesty” of justice. Jackson spent an hour in a jailhouse visit with Marissa Alexander, 32, an African American who was sentenced to a mandatory 20 years in prison for firing a warning shot into the wall of her home in 2010 to end a violent argument with her abusive husband. “In one case Mr. Zimmerman kills a young man and walks away, free to kill again,” Jackson said. “And Marissa shot no one, hurt no one, and she’s in jail for 20 years.” Jackson said the contrast in the Zimmerman and Alexander cases exposed injustices in the justice system.
