MSNBC America’s Race Baiting News Network

This entertainment network of racist race baiters and instigators is a joke. How can anyone watch or defend this clear and divisive garbage. In the first video, a host calls republicans crackers with no one batting an eye. I’ve added a few more clips to show the trend.

Here, MSNBC labels Segregationist George Wallace a (R) Republican, despite the fact that he was a (D) Democrat…

European officials slam US over bugging report – Yahoo! News

By Frank Jordans

BERLIN AP — Senior European officials expressed concern Sunday at reports that U.S. intelligence agents bugged EU offices on both sides of the Atlantic, with some leftist lawmakers calling for concrete sanctions against Washington. The president of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, said he was “deeply worried and shocked about the allegations of U.S. authorities spying on EU offices” made in a report published Sunday by German news weekly Der Spiegel.

The magazine said the surveillance was carried out by the U.S. National Security Agency, which has recently been the subject of leaks claiming it scanned vast amounts of foreign Internet traffic. The U.S. government has defended its efforts to intercept electronic communications overseas by arguing that this has helped prevent terror attacks at home and abroad. Schulz said that if the allegations that the NSA bugged European Union offices were confirmed “it would be an extremely serious matter which will have a severe impact on EU-US relations.”

Violence Flares in Egypt Before Protests

CAIRO (AP) — Tens of thousands of supporters and opponents of President Mohammed Morsi rallied Friday in Cairo, and both sides fought each other in the second-largest city of Alexandria, where two people were killed — including an American — and 85 were injured while at least five offices of Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood were torched, officials said.

The competing camps were trying to show their strength before even bigger nationwide protests planned by the opposition Sunday — the first anniversary of Morsi’s inauguration — aimed at forcing his removal.

The opposition says it will bring millions into the streets across Egypt, and more violence is feared. Already, six people have been killed in clashes this week, including Friday’s deaths.

The Cairo International Airport was flooded with departing passengers, an exodus that officials said was unprecedented. All flights departing Friday to Europe, the U.S. and the Gulf were fully booked, they said.

Indoctrination: Schoolchildren Trained to Promote Affordable Care Act

By J.D. Tuccile

Hey! How about using the public schools to recruit their captive audience of students to the cause, and then set the kids loose to proselytize their families on the glories of Obamacare? That should work wonders.

And it’s not creepy at all.

From School Reform News:

The Los Angeles Unified School District will use a state grant to train teens to promote ObamaCare to family members. Covered California, the state’s health insurance exchange, announced grants of $37 million on May 14 to promote the nationally unpopular law. LAUSD will receive $990,000. The district listed as a primary outcome for its project, “Teens trained to be messengers to family members.” Covered California spokeswoman Sarah Soto-Taylor said staff have not questioned this goal. “We have confidence that the model LA Unified brought to the table will be successful in reaching our target population, which includes family members of students,” she said. Well, of course “staff have not questioned this goal.” That’s because “LAUSD will also use tax-paid staff to promote ObamaCare through phone calls to students’ homes, in-class presentations, and meetings with employees eligible for ObamaCare’s taxpayer-covered healthcare.”

So public school teachers get paid taxpayer dollars to preach Obamacare to their co-workers and the students, so the kids will then go home and sing the glories of the health scheme to the same taxpayers who are funding the whole process. Everybody wins!

If this experiment in using the public schools as a medium for spreading the good news works out as school officials and health insurance exchange managers hope, expect more in the future:

“Teens are part of a ‘pilot’ program to test whether young people can be trained as messengers to deliver outreach and limited education to family and friends in and around their homes,” said Gayle Pollard-Terry, a LAUSD spokesman, in an email. “Teens will be educating adults that they already know (e.g., family or friends) and not other adults.”

ECOMINOES: Housing Recovery? No, Housing Bubble 2.0

By Seth Mason

Investors are once again throwing cheap, Fed-provided capital into real estate, promoting price increases and inflating a new housing bubble. If the “recovery” in the housing market were legitimate–i.e. if it were a function of an expanding economy and consumers were driving the market–one would expect the number of mortgage applications to be increasing. An increasing number of mortgage applications, see, would be a natural byproduct of more Americans are getting hired, earning more, and buying houses. But, of course, this isn’t the case because this isn’t a recovery.

In reality, the number of mortgage applications has been shrinking, both in real terms and in terms of year-over-year change:

Documentary: The Other Side of Immigration

Just thought I’d share this trailer for a good documentary to check out on Netflix. It covers the immigration issue in a way not typically portrayed by our US news media. The description below the video clip is from the film’s website

About the film. Based on a National Science Foundation-funded study of over 700 Mexican households, The Other Side of Immigration asks why so many Mexicans have left home to work in the United States and what’s happened to the families and communities they’ve left behind. Structured around social science theory and the director’s academic research, the film challenges audiences to think about the many political, economic, and social causes and effects of mass migration in Mexico. Topics discussed in the film include: the impact of market policies (including NAFTA) on the incomes of small Mexican farmers, social pressures that have perpetuated mass migration, the relationship between migration and politics in rural Mexico, the effects of migrants’ remittances on local economies, and the impact of migration on family life. The Other Side of Immigration has been called a “must-see for anyone serious about the subject” and “beautifully shot film” that “shows the human side of immigration.”

Check out the homepage above, I just had to post a screen grab, along with a link to the rest of the story.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Tennessee man was charged Wednesday in a scheme involving former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s income tax returns during the 2012 campaign.

The U.S. Justice Department said a federal grand jury in Nashville indicted Michael Mancil Brown, 34, of Franklin, and charged him with six counts of wire fraud and six counts of extortion.

Brown is accused of having an anonymous letter delivered to the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP accounting firm in Franklin last August, demanding that $1 million in digital currency be deposited to a Bitcoin account to keep some of Romney’s income tax returns from being released. The Justice Department said Brown falsely claimed that he had gained access to the PricewaterhouseCoopers internal computer network and stolen tax documents for Romney and his wife, Ann Romney, for tax years before 2010.

IRS Scandal Continues: News Media Colluding to Spread Propaganda?

The second part of my headline is simply my opinion at the moment which I have developed by following the IRS scandal closely, please make sure to do your own research and make up your own minds. Earlier this week I commented on an IRS news story, my post was titled “IRS now says that Liberal Groups were targeted, Administration Continues to Destroy its Credibility”. The earlier “legitimate news” story, which you can read HERE, began with…

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Internal Revenue Service’s screening of groups seeking tax-exempt status was broader and lasted longer than has been previously disclosed, the new head of the agency acknowledged Monday. Terms including “Israel,” ”Progressive” and “Occupy” were used by agency workers to help pick groups for closer examination, according to an internal IRS document obtained by The Associated Press.

Below is today’s story, covering the follow up response by the IRS Inspector General AND the current IRS chief…

The government watchdog that exposed IRS targeting of conservative groups gave a blunt response to Democrats’ claims that the agency also targeted liberals: It never happened. “We found no indication in any of these other materials that ‘Progressives’ was a term used to refer cases for scrutiny for political campaign intervention,” IRS Inspector General J. Russell George wrote in a letter to Democrats.

Democrats have since turned on the IG’s office, claiming it is only telling half the story. But Republicans used the letter, and a House hearing on Thursday, to counter that narrative — getting the current IRS chief to confirm that, in fact, there’s no evidence to date that progressives were targeted. “So far, the evidence only shows conservatives being systematically targeted by the IRS,” Rep. Dave Camp, R-Mich., said.

Camp pressed the issue as he questioned newly appointed IRS boss Danny Werfel. Citing the IG letter, he asked whether Werfel’s own internal report contradicted the claim. “No,” Werfel said, while adding “more investigation” is needed.

What kind of mainstream news media would spread a story to manipulate the American public into thinking that their government did not act in a biased manner by not simply targeting a group, but an entire ideology that is against big inefficient government, AFTER the IRS planted a question to itself during a question and answer moment in order confess to these actions. If that is not propaganda I don’t know what is. As far as collusion goes, why would an independent objective impartial news media not question IRS chief Danny Werfel about these specific matters, like the House did today, before spreading a news story cobbled together by looking at “documents” that was sure to mislead trusting readers? Things are getting ridiculous. Have we officially reached the point where we can’t trust the news media? WAKE UP people, someone is trying their best to pull the wool over your eyes.

Mexico has stricter immigration laws than the United States of America

Here is a summary of two excellent 2006 research papers exposing how Mexico discriminates illegal and legal immigrants.

• Mexico welcomes only foreigners who will be useful to Mexican society:
– Foreigners are admitted into Mexico “according to their possibilities of contributing to national progress.” (Article 32)
– Immigration officials must “ensure” that “immigrants will be useful elements for the country and that they have the necessary funds for their sustenance” and for their dependents. (Article 34)
– Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets “the equilibrium of the national demographics,” when foreigners are deemed detrimental to “economic or national interests,” when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when “they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy.” (Article 37)

• The Mexican constitution expressly forbids non-citizens to participate in the country’s political life.
Non-citizens are forbidden to participate in demonstrations or express opinions in public about domestic politics. Article 9 states, “only citizens of the Republic may do so to take part in the political affairs of the country.” Article 33 is unambiguous: “Foreigners may not in any way participate in the political affairs of the country.”

Sen. Wyden denounces bulk phone record collection

By Valerie Bonk

WASHINGTON (AP) — A senator who has been instrumental in the fight for open government warned Wednesday that the government’s practice of “vacuuming up the phone records of millions of law-abiding Americans” puts citizens’ privacy at risk.

During a panel sponsored by the American Society of News Editors, Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., said while the information collected by the National Security Agency involves phone numbers, location and time of the call, it might also contain vital personal details, such as relationships, medical issues, religious matters or political affiliations.

“I have to believe the civil liberties of millions of Americans have been violated,” Wyden said.

“I have not seen any evidence that demonstrates that the bulk collection of all of these records provides unique value,” he added.

Wyden said he believes that the information the NSA gathers could be obtained by emergency authorization or court order and does not need to be collected automatically from millions of Americans in bulk.

“The fact is that vacuuming up the phone records of millions of law-abiding Americans can really determine and reveal a lot of private information,” he said.

“Statism” at the Root of America’s Modern Political Divide

By Tim Dunkin

Everybody knows that there is a great divide in the American political system. However, many in this nation are incorrect in their understanding of what constitutes this divide. If asked, many would try to point to race or class, even though these would not generally be satisfactory answers to the question. Others would point to the division between the major political parties. Yet others, perhaps a little more accurately, would draw lines between the conventional Left/Right, liberal/conservative dichotomy that dominates the thinking of most observers. However, even this division is not completely accurate, because there are many who would profess themselves to be “conservatives” who nevertheless hold to many big-government, liberty-unfriendly positions on various issues. I would submit that the more accurate division in the American body politic is between those who I term “liberty lovers” (which is not synonymous with “libertarian,” by the way) and statists.

Many people would recoil from understanding themselves using the term “statist.” This term conjures up images of Stalin, Hitler, or Big Brother from Orwell’s 1984. Granted, those are extreme versions of statism, each of which approached the convergence point of pure totalitarianism, regardless of the label (communism, fascism, IngSoc) they went under. But the impulses to statism don’t have to be so drastic – at least at the start. Statism, even if in an incipient form, can be seen among those who simply want the government to act as a “benevolent” protector from the trials of adult life in a chancy world. It can be found among those who want the government to step beyond its legitimate role of protecting us from each other into the realm of protecting us from ourselves. All around us, we see people in our country whose impulses are not to simply let other people be so long as they’re not hurting someone else, but who feel the need to regulate and to expropriate for the good of themselves or of some other group for which they claim to be “protectors.”

By Edward H. Crane

Pres. Barack Obama is not a socialist. He is a thoroughgoing statist, perhaps the worst in American history. And with Wilson, FDR, and LBJ, he’s got some serious competition. Republicans in Congress lack the leadership to challenge the president’s audacious power grabs. More important, they lack any serious philosophical basis for doing so. The acronym RINO is an oxymoron, for the name “Republican” in fact designates someone with a commitment to nothing more than maintaining political power. The purpose of maintaining that power is to, well, maintain that power.

There is a reason sales of Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged are going through the roof. The book is nothing if not prescient. The “Troubled Assets Relief Program” is straight from its pages. Monday’s New York Times front page suggests Atlas may be starting to shrug. “Doctor Shortage Proves Obstacle to Obama Goals,” laments the headline. Hmm. Wonder why there would be a doctor shortage in the face of nationalized health care? Perhaps bright young people considering a career don’t want to work for the federal bureaucracy?

Americans Oppose ‘Obamacare,’ Social Security for Illegal Immigrants Made Legal by Reform – Yahoo! News

By Scott Bland

According to the latest United Technologies/National Journal Congressional Connection Poll, more than two-thirds of all Americans and nine out of every 10 Republicans oppose making legalized immigrants “eligible for government benefits … before they become citizens,” confirming the issue’s potency as one of the main political attacks against immigration reform supporters in 2014.

NumbersUSA’s February ad against Graham may have been an early shot, but given how strongly the message tests, it seems sure to crop up again — assuming attention remains focused on the issue. Overall, 77 percent of respondents opposed making government benefits available to legalized but noncitizen immigrants. In findings that are sure to feed a core conservative fear about the issue, the idea was broadly unpopular across party, race, and class lines:

Ninety percent of Republicans opposed it, as did 80 percent of independents and 65 percent of Democrats, suggesting the message could appear in general-election advertising as well as in GOP primaries.

Nearly two-thirds of nonwhites stood against the idea, as well as 84 percent of whites.

While college-educated women were the group of whites that most supported extending benefits, 71 percent of them still opposed it.

Obama’s War On Coal – Forbes

By Brigham A. McCown

President Obama launched a ‘war on coal’ in his climate change action plan, released early this morning and addressed from Georgetown University this afternoon. In 2008, Obama warned that his policies would bankrupt anyone who started a coal power plant, and today this controversial policy will begin to impact America’s middle class.

Coal is responsible for more than 760,000 American jobs, yet the Obama administration thinks a “war on coal is exactly what’s needed.” This action plan will close 288 coal plants across 32 states, a huge roadblock for repairing the American economy. Families across the US pay 11% less for electricity in states where more than half comes from coal. Even the Washington Post also conceded in a report this week that the president’s new climate plan will increase consumers’ electricity prices, which could not come at a worse time considering yesterday’s report finding that three-quarters of Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck.

The action plan lays out the federal efforts and regulations to cut coal production and to limit carbon dioxide emissions, as well as doubling efforts to rely on geothermal, solar and wind power, providing $8 billion in federal loans to assist in renewables. The proposal speeds up the permitting process for wind and solar while oil and gas permits on federal lands are at record lows.

His plan is designed to sidestep Congress, by using a presidential memorandum…

IRS now says that Liberal Groups were targetted, Administration Continues to Destroy its Credibility

Yes folks all of a sudden, after a new guy was put in to head the IRS, a “document” obtained by the Associated Press reveals that liberal key words like “progressive” and “occupy” were also put on a list to flag IRS applications for tax exempt status. Ignore the fact that an actual source isn’t tied to those details, its simply a document. Forget the fact the IRS planted a question to itself during a conference to finally confess to the conservative political targeting, just 4 days before an investigative report was to be released revealing this to the American public. Forget the fact that Lois Lerner, Director of the IRS’ tax exempt division who had the original question planted, pled the 5th to avoid answering questions during the Congressional hearings that followed. Forget the fact that higher ups at the IRS knew that this targeting was going on for months and denied, yet told White House lawyers about it, but conveniently, not the President. Forget the fact that the issue here was not simply the targeting lists, including dangerous keywords like “constitution” and “bill of rights” but the exhaustive reviews which asked conservative groups for information such as detailed Facebook comments and the contents of prayers. Forget the following line of questioning of Steven Miller, acting IRS Commissioner at the time, in which he says there was not a liberal targeting list…

This administration has a huge problem on its hands. After Edward Snowden leaked information regarding the NSA spying, this administration assured us it was not a big deal, yet, they instantly wanted to charge him with treason, for, according to them, revealing information that was not secret. They were simply complying with the Patriot Act, move along, nothing to see here.

Now, weeks after the IRS was publicly demolished by Congress after a coordinated confession by the IRS for biased political targeting, a document reveals news that both sides were targeted. Move along nothing to see here. No one thought that would be good information to share during congressional hearings? Maybe it was the whole, swearing under oath thing? Whatever the facts may be at this point, one thing is for sure, the White House is losing more and more credibility as the days continue.
